In the book "From Baghdad With Love"  is about a guy named Jay in the military and he is looking through a house in a war zone.  He is looking through the house and stumbles across a little dog.  Jay  brought the dog back with him to his base.  He named the dog Lava after the group of soldiers who found the dog.  They called them selves the Lava Dogs.  Over time they grew closer and closer to lava.
   
      Later in the story Jay meets a girl names Anne.  Anne and Jay later became friends and take care of lava together.  They keep Lava even against the rules that were placed against having dogs a the base. the rule was they had to kill the animals or let them go.  So they wanted to send Lava to America.  they would send him to America with Anne.

     At the end of the story jay and Anne were finding out a way to get Lava to America.  Then Jay and Anne realized that it would be a lot more complicated then they thought it would be.  They had to make him get his shots.  Lastly they needed to get him out of Iran.  Lt the very end to the story they sent Lava with Anne and jay came shortly after to live with Lava.
